Welcome to the PortMedia Web site!

PortMedia is Newburyport’s award-winning community media center.  We operate Newburyport’s Comcast Channels 8 & 9.

If you live, work, or go to school in Newburyport and you are not already a member, you can easily become a member.  Once you join, all training classes and use of our cameras, editing suites, studio, and control room are completely free. It’s the best deal in town!

As a member of PortMedia, you can:

• Make a television show about nearly any topic you want
• Take free training classes where you’ll learn
• Camera operation
• Why audio is important to your video
• Editing techniques (we use professional quality editing software, but don’t worry, you can do it!)
• How to produce and direct an in-studio television show
• Borrow our equipment to create your television show
• Join one of our live sports production crews
• Join the crew of another member’s show (hint – this is a great way to meet other members who may eventually join the crew of your show)
